A small Nonogram with clues you can check

Fill squares so each row and column matches its clue groups. The numbers specify group lengths in order, with at least one empty square between separate groups. Every painted square must satisfy both directions.

How to play

Nonogram rules

Fill cells to match each row and column’s clue groups in order. Leave at least one empty cell between separate groups. A 0 means the whole line is empty. Select Fill or Mark empty, then select a cell. Select it again with the same tool to clear the mark. Arrow keys move through the board; Enter or Space applies the tool. These three 5 × 5 puzzles do not save progress when you leave.

Read groups rather than a total

A clue of three means one uninterrupted group of three painted squares. A clue of one followed by two means a single painted square, at least one empty square, then two painted squares together. It does not mean any three painted squares placed wherever they fit.

Read row clues from left to right and column clues from top to bottom. Both sets describe the same picture. A proposed row can satisfy its own clue and still be impossible because of a column crossing it. That intersection is where many useful deductions appear.

Know which puzzle this page offers

The main Trama breve game contains three selectable five-by-five puzzles. Choosing another puzzle starts that board from its initial state. Use the selector deliberately, then read the new row and column clues before painting. A square that was filled in your previous puzzle may need to stay empty in the new one.

Recognizing a possible picture can be tempting, but the image is not an extra rule. A shape that looks like a letter or object still has to match every clue. Let the groups prove your choices rather than filling squares to make the picture you expect to see.

Use fill and empty marks for different conclusions

Fill marks a square as part of the picture. Empty marks a square that must stay unpainted. An empty mark is different from leaving a square undecided: the first records a deduction, while the second still allows either state.

Repeating the corresponding action can remove a mark, and undo returns to a previous change. If a clue becomes impossible to satisfy, inspect the assumptions that led there. You can work through one small, certain part of a line without guessing the entire row or erasing every other mark.

Try three kinds of deduction

Start with lines whose clues fill the entire available space. A five in a five-square row fills every square. A zero leaves every square empty. These complete cases provide information you can immediately carry into the crossing columns.

Next, compare the extremes of a group. A run of three in a five-square line covers the center square whether it starts at the far left, far right, or the position between them. The center is therefore certain. The outside squares are not automatically filled or empty just because that center was found.

Then inspect the column through that certain square. It may finish another group, force a gap, or eliminate a placement. Take the new information back to the row. Alternating directions is more productive than treating every row as a separate puzzle and postponing all columns until the end.

Check spacing as well as the painted count

A correct number of painted squares does not guarantee a correct line. Separate groups may have been joined together, reversed, or placed where a crossing clue forbids them. To finish the puzzle, every row and column must match its full ordered sequence.

Pause covers the board when you want to step away. The current main Trama breve game does not save an unfinished position across a reload or closed tab. That differs from several other Break Club games, so keep the limitation in mind before leaving. There is no account requirement, connected opponent, or hidden reward for finishing quickly.

Keep the controls and the reasoning visible

On a phone, choose Fill or Empty, then tap a square. On a computer, move through the grid with the keyboard and activate the chosen tool. Keep track of three states: filled, marked empty, and not yet decided. A blank you have not investigated is not the same as a proven gap.

The Nonogram guide works through complete lines, separated groups, and overlap decisions. To try more cells, choose the separate 10 × 10 board. Its longer lines use the same ordered-run and gap rules, while giving you more positions to compare. For a paper puzzle, use the printable page and inspect the browser’s print preview before printing.

Frequently asked questions

What does 1,2 mean?

One filled square, a gap of at least one empty square, then a run of two filled squares.

Should I guess the picture?

Use the row and column constraints instead. A recognizable shape does not override a clue.

Is an empty mark the same as an undecided square?

No. Empty records a conclusion; undecided still allows either state.

Will this main puzzle survive a reload?

The current main Trama breve game does not save unfinished progress across reloads or closed tabs.

Is the main board ten by ten?

No. This board has three 5 × 5 puzzles. Choose the separate 10 × 10 page for a larger grid.
